Bandwidth-measuring site Speedtest.net recently updated with a new look, more accurate bandwidth measuring tools and a new feature called Speed Wave, that allows you to compare your speeds with others.
Essentially it’s the same old Speedtest.net with a few nice tweaks and improvements, but we thought it might be fun to kick the tires on a Trippnology Speed Wave, so I’ve started one. The results page is here, and you can add your own test to the Speed Wave on this page. I’ve set the bar very low by testing from a 3G dongle with a very poor signal!
Click this link, click Begin Test, and Speedtest.net will measure your download and upload speeds and save the test to our Speed Wave. Should be interesting to see the variation in speeds among readers, though I suspect a lot of your tests will be a measure of work bandwidth rather than your home connection.
